He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Thomas Jefferson Medical School.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, Dr. Cornelius attended The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Cornelius returned to The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for his Dermatology residency. After completing his residency, Dr. Cornelius was an Assistant Chief of the Venereal Disease Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He returned to Philadelphia as Director of Clinical Research at The VA Hospital.

He has been on staff at The Bryn Mawr Hospital since 1968. Dr. Cornelius was Chief of Dermatology at The Bryn Mawr Hospital for 12 years. He has published extensively in leading Dermatology journals and texts during his career.

Special interests include Skin Cancer Surgery and Geriatric Dermatology.

Dr. Cornelius is the founder and a managing partner of the Bryn Mawr Skin & Cancer Institute.
